Thanks Derrel. I think the lack of contrast between the bikes and the sidewalk at the bottom is buggin me.
The lines make it seem a bit busy as well. Maybe I was just hoping for something more when I saw the shot.

I was not there, but judging off time of day and the interior lights, I doubt there's any way your camera could have captured that light with any degree of finesse, short of blasting the scene with flash...I'd expect the lows to be utterly crushed. I mean maybe you can do two conversions, but I'd expect the blacks to just all stack up, even though the human eye could see and experience that lighting condition just fine. I wasn't there....so it doesn't bug me. I DO however totally, totally get where you're coming from!

I really love the tree and the window i think it adds another layer to the composition other than the people and the bikes

I'm not sure why this shot bugs me. Good to hear other views.
It does seem to look better to me when printed. Maybe I'll crank out a large print and see how I feel.
