Sigma 24-60 mm F2.8 EX DG 77mm

Anyone use a Sigma 24-60 mm F2.8 EX DG 77mm on your sony a100 or a700? Would this make a good portrait lens?

Nope... with the 18-50 F/2.8 DC EX HSM around, I would take the 18-50 over the 24-60 any day of the week.

And to answer your question, yes at that range, it makes an excellent portrait and general indoor use lens.

Well I maybe able to get one around 150 bucks so that why I am asking. I have the kit lens that came with my camera and a minolta 50mm 1.7 non zoom lens right now.
