Sigma lenses and my Canon 500D (compatibality

Hi thereee! this is my first time here. I have a Canon 500D i just bought it a few months ago. And I'm thinking of getting Sigma 18-250mm or a 70-200mm lens for my Canon 500D.

My major question is.. Is it compatible?

Welcome. Sigma with Canon mount should be compatible. Sometimes with new camera there are issues. The 500d is out a while so all should be ok. I think these issues are becoming less as sigma have had to re chip ones they had sold.I bought sigma 105 for my Canon recently and its perfect. Your camera is crop sensor also so full frame lenses work fine. If you were using a full frame you could only use full frame lenses. hope this helps.
