Silent Basker

I have never seen this basker at my Underground station playing his violin. I doubt he knows how to. He just puts his instrument on the ground, sits quietly, collects his change and goes away. I wonder where did he get the instrument. We have at least one thing in common. We both regret we do not play violin. Or probably I am wrong, and unlike me, he is a player...

Looking at how he is treating his violin, probably you are right

I think it would be a good guess that he obtained the instruments from a thrift store, and he couldn't play a lick. Leaving a violin out in the sun like that, I would bet that he doesn't know the first thing about either one.

Or he is collecting loose change to finance his music lessons.

Either way; he doesn't play.

Lean conveys the idea. Lean, leaning, leaned, crooked, sloping, not straight, all work. Also "the frame is tilted" works. IMO, in this shot, even though it is obviously tilted, it is o.k. because it rearranges the relationship between the human figure and his begging apparatus, actually elevating his apparatus higher than it would otherwise be with a level frame.

Then, the frame is too much tilted for me. I do understand your point of view but I just simply don't see it that way.
