Nice idea.
Too much black at the bottom, though, I think.
And either my eye-sight is leaving me (which would not be surprising) or I can't really see ANY part of your photo in focus *adjusts glasses* ... still can't... So sorry.
And the pic is a little tilted.
Tell us a bit more about how you took it and what you had in mind when you planned this, will you?

the focus is at the edge of the waterfall i think it is just that the image is really soft with a rather small dof (what aperture were you on? because a small f-number would explain maybe both the dof and the softness). The black is cool but yes there is a bit too much of it.
Apart from those technicalities i think you did pretty good with black and white and a nice conception.
