Decent. Workmanlike. I like the action in the third shot the most, followed by the second shot.

Scott, thanks for looking but not much of a critique coming from someone who has decades of professional photography experience. A critique usually provides more information than one word, it should describe in more detail what a person likes or dislikes about a subject.

I was interested in finding out your assessments of others photos on this site, it appears "pretty average" is a catch phase of yours......haha.

Background is too busy in the first image, I find it distracting, inspite of the good expressions. Second image, two guys lying on the ground is really not much of a rugby photo, the photos before they got to the ground would have been better, the action has been missed. Thrid one, background is good, looks like you were shooting around 5.6-6.3, peak action. although I find the lamp post and people walking along the field in the background a little distracting. If at all possible shooting down the field instead of across it will help with the backgrounds, the downside to that is that if you don't have the longer glass you'll be shooting loose and doing a lot of cropping. These look like they were shot with with a decent piece of glass.
