Ski and Snowboard (C&C on IQ)

Hi everyone! just got a sigma 70-200 f/2.8 APO EX G HSM (what ever the original one is) And took it to ski club today. Some C&C on the pictures would be helpful!

ALSO: I'd like your guy's opinion on the image quality. I have a couple more days to return it to KEH.com so would like some 3rd party opinions. Thanks!

all taken at 250th~300th of a second at F/2.8 and out near 200mm with an ISO of 350. (on my D2H)

#1 and #4 are my favs.
I know you cannot always control the backrounds but #2 and #3 have 'stuff' going on behind them which takes away from you subject.

I'd also crop just a wee bit off the bottom of #1 to get rid of the dark spot in the snow?

I commend you for doing these. These are tough action shots!
However I do like them all...airborne is cool!

I agree 1 and 4 are my favs too. I love 4, though I would try and crop out the object in the lower right hand corner it keeps pulling my eye to it.

Can't say much about the quality when they are so small.
All are underexposed. To me all the crops are tweeners, either get really tight or back off a bit.

I am right into my snowboarding so I love shots like this but 3 is far and away the most dynamic shot.

The background in 1 does not give any context to the trick. Is he coming off a box/rail/kicker, is he 5 feet in the air, 1 foot in the air? Who knows.

Number 2 is a good shot as well. Despite the background of 2 and 3 I actually think it adds some character to the photo. Unless you can shoot a nice wife angle showing the park or groom I think having a populated background improves the shot.

Number 4 I am not a fan of simply because of the trick. The composition is nice though.
