Hi there, here's a picture i took for a singer friend of mine.

I used a 3 light set up for this. A beauty dish with an AB800 to create the rim light, another AB800 with a reflector, left of frame, to help the rim light and create more of a light wrap on his front side, and a 580ex with a dome diffuser, right of frame to bring up the some pretty dark shadows happening on the side facing the camera.

I like the lighting, but would like to know why you used the landscape orientation for the image?

I could see landscape orientation making more sense if the subject were further to the right for this image.

I also don't get much emotion from this pose, for a singer.

I thought the exact same thing. Since the background is pure black, it would be easy to edit it that way.
