Took myself and the new 20D to the local botanical garden for a little exercise. Found this fella on the way out...

Canon 20D, 17-55 @ 55mm, ISO 200, 1/200 @ f/10 with reflector fill.

Post: cropped, slight desat, resized, mildly sharpened.

good shot...way to go..! love the detail of the spiders design....and you can see bits of his silk along the buds of the flowers...cool as heck...

your lucky to live in alaska...bet you can get great shots just anywhere.....
 
Lovely colours. I used to take the heads off snap dragons. if you pinch the sides the mouth opens!

Nice DOF and detail... very nice picture. Spiders really creep me out so I'm focusing on the flower. Very pretty flower! :)

Thanks for the compliments. And to those of you who don't like spiders...well...you just haven't met the right spider yet.
 
Not only don't I mind spiders (probably because there are only harmless spiders where I live), I also like your crystal clear, brilliantly sharp photo of this spider!
