this is the first time ive ever shot in the snow, i read a few different sites for tips and saw over and over to compensate for the exposure. I think i took that advice too far though since about half of my pictures came out over exposed. Here are a few though:

Kudos taking your camera out today. Thought about it in the morning, then second guessed myself.

The spotlights over the field i thought could make an interesting picture, the way the flakes were so clear as they fell through the path of the light but i was surprised how noisey they came out looking, I was using around 1/125 sec.

Even in a couple of these where the spot lights are in the background it has a more grainy look than snowy look.

my aperture the widest i could get it the whole time (canon t2i with 18-55 kit lens), so 4.5-5. Went up to 8 here and there. Dont know if it was just an issue of focus. Also i had my iso around 800-1600... im at work so im not sure exactly the settings.

any tips for getting crisper rather than grainier looking falling snow?
