I'm from KC too, born and raised. But I live up north now. The city doesn't do the state justice. The rural areas of the state really can be breathtaking.

That said, I'm leaving MO if I ever get a chance

Haaa. I don't blame you. Once we moved out here, I had to go back to KC every Summer when school was out. It was really tough especially when my school mates where chilling at the beach while I was suffering through hot and sometimes humid summers back there.

Of course once I graduated I stopped going back. If my folks want to see me, they can come out here.

I don't mind the summer, the humidity kinda sucks, but I'm a hot weather fan. It's the winters I hate No, I do not want to build a snowman.
