According to the news he was hit by sliding glass door which was knocked back into his house by a wave. His dog was unharmed

hey man, just saw your photo of Minot's Ledge on FB...that is amazing!! I've wanted to get down there to get a photo with waves like that for a while now. Where do you shoot that lighthouse from?

Thanks. Yesterday's picture of Minot was from Cohasset. I also have a spot in Scituate that I go to when the flooding's not to bad. The biggest waves are during Nor'easta, hurricanes or blizzard.

Whenever we had to face something hard or awful, my father always said, "It builds character." But when HE was faced with the possibility, he would say, "I'm already enough of a character."

He probably was saying that as he laid on the floor bleeding in a puddle of salt water. I've lived here by the ocean for over 50 years. When the ocean gets like it does during these storms it's foolish to take it on. I almost last my father in the "Blizzard of "78" when he had to go out and rescue people like him who chose to stay. They gain nothing but could lose everything. Well he did gain 40 stitches and 15 minutes of fame.
