Software Question

I just purchased the FujiFilm FinePix S1000fd and do not like the software, FinePixViewer, that came with it. May be just me but I find it to be very slow and does not offer all that much.

Can anyone suggest a good program to use for transferring my pictures from camera to computer as well as organizing them?

Not sure about it because I haven't used it, but Picasa might be worth a look. Or iPhoto if you have a Mac.

lightroom was designed for a LOT more than organizing photos.. its a complete editing program.. if the OP is just looking to organize, and not do any edits, lightroom is way over kill (cost wise)

Lightroom is nowhere close to being a complete editing program. Though it is pretty handy it's really pretty limited as far as editing capabilities go.

But, like I said it's great at managing an image database, which is where Adobe put the majority of their programing effort.
