Oh ... where are the trees? Who took them away? Shouldn't a "forest" have (some) more trees?
Nevertheless, I like how you photographed against the light and had the shadow of that central tree "come in your direction" in the first two. The halos around the trees on the right need to go, though, they kind of ruin the photo. And you could work some on your composition by cropping in from above and the right (not much) to move that shadow-throwing tree some further out of the centre.

Thx for the critique. How do you normally remove/prevent halos?

Halos are usually a result of over processing.
