There were some geese on the side of the road and I had a few minutes so I thought I'd pull into a nearby parking lot and try to get some shots. It was about 7:30pm so the sun was quite low in the sky and I was shooting wide open (except for one of them I think) but I found most of the shots to be acceptable. The last one is wide open with a 1.7x TC so considering that I thought it came out fairly well. Most of them are cropped to some extent, the first one is heavily cropped. Always open to suggestions on how to improve.

I really like #2. I'm fond of the lighting in these, really comes off to me as a "morning" feel.

Thanks, they were pretty cooperative as long as I didn't get too close. I would imagine that there isn't a great deal of difference between early morning and late evening except for the direction of the light. The people driving by were yelling all kinds of things at me. They were moslty just being silly but one yelled "get a f***ing job!" which kind of confused me. I'm not sure if the $4,000+ worth of camera gear I was holding or the sports car I was standing next to that made him feel that I needed gainful employment.

Thank you for the compliments and encouragement. (I enjoy getting both) I did try to get closer but they would just start walking farther away as I tried. One must me careful around these kinds of birds. They are elegant enough but if you get closer than they are comfortable with they may turn on you. I am pretty sure I could out run them but I didn't want to chance it. I would really hate to turn up on YouTube getting flogged by geese on the side of the road.

That's rather curious. I can't say I've encountered many, if any at all, instances of photographers being heckled or harassed by the general public for taking photos. Generally, I've always thought that people felt either impressed or intimidated when they see a person lining up shots with upper-grade camera equipment.

I like number two as well .....nice shots

Most of them weren't really harassing, they were just goofing off. The 'get a job' guy may have just wanted to yell something and that was the first thing to came to mind, who knows. I certainly didn't feel threatened or angry, I found it amusing.

Thanks, it's one of my favorites as well. Number one had potential but I just didn't get a clean enough shot of him and the heavy crop didn't help. :/
