I would say the first one is fine. The second is over saturated. All according to my taste of course.

The purple CA in the windmill really stands out to me. I would read up on how to get rid of that.


1 looks good to me.

The grass is way off in number 2.

I like 3, it may be a little overcooked, but not much IMO.

Dont get me wrong, these are still 8 outta 10 ( TO ME ), but you could improve them with some different post processing.

I love HDR pics and personally don't mind them a bit overcooked and even cartoonish. Having said that, I believe the compositional elements for good pics should still be in place. Not particularly excited about 1 and 3. My eye is not particularly drawn to the elements in them. #2 could be very cool if there was a little more space on the right and the reflection had not been cut off. My guess is that if you toned down the detail contrast and warmed up the colors a bit you could get rid of the CA and improve the feel.

Hmmm. If you want a slap on the back and gasps of "gorgeous, print it big and hang it up" this isn't the place to be If you want honest critique (which is what the galleries are about - it's even written in the section) then you might not agree with all of it, but it's your loss if you choose to ignore it.

I have no problem with criticism when it is constructive

Simply posting they are all overcooked is just plane and simply rude in my opinion

I love HDR's, but not knowledgeable about it. I do want to try it soon. I like them. Number 3 does seem too busy. I like the over cooked and over saturated look.

I have to agree with LightGuru's assessment and am not sure it requires further explanation and certainly don't see it as a rude response. "Overcooked," is pretty plain in explanation.

One of the things I've noticed far more recently in the world of HDR , is the tendency to get away from the highly saturated toning as you are showing. For me, it doesn't present a High Dynamic Range as much as, I think someone put it, "cartoonish." Perhaps this look floats your boat, but for me, it's a "meh."

These are all really good.

Processed correctly w/tone mapping

minor dark spots in the center and edges unless you wanted it that way and these are not over cooked im sure most of the people here don't shoot HDR

those are great. They may be "overcooked" for the photographer in some of us. But the most important item here is this... People who don't know jack about photography absolutely love this type of image. The fact is HDR is absolutely eye catching. If you put one hdr photo in a stack of regular nice looking photos chances are the person browsing will stop longer on that photo. They might even come back to it or ask about it. The sharpness, the color saturation are facinating if done correctly.

Your first photograph is superb. The other two a bit soft, but could just be the upload. Keep working on them. People do like them.
