What's new

Some images with Sigma 150-600mm with Sigma 1.4x Tele Convertor.

Great shots - mind if I ask what body you are using?
Thanks for commenting.
I use a Canon 80D crop sensor camera.

Great series! I'm surprised the AF worked at all... with the 1.4x on the Sigma, you're at f/8, and I didn't think the AF on the xxD series bodies worked at apertures smaller than f/5.6?

When I said it requires a lot of light for the AF to work properly, it was maybe the wrong phrase to use.
My Canon 80D has 45 individual AF that I can use, when I use the 1.4x TC with the Sigma lens, I am restricted to one AF point (centre point). With lens set at 600mm and TC attached F9 is as wide as the aperture will go.

nice shots, doesn't look like there was much loss in sharpness with the tc?
Thank you.
Not to much in these images, but there is always a trade off with getting closer shots and sharpness when using a TC.

Out of interest what is it like with birds in flight?
I can only speak of my experience with the combo I use.
It is does not work for BIF, the AF is not fast enough and the use of only one AF point is a drawback.

Ah, okay. I knew the 7D Mk II will AF using the center point only at f/8, but didn't realize the 80D did as well. Thanks!
