Some macro attempts while in Taiwan

Here are some of my macro shots while bush walking in Taiwan.
Most are just weird bugs that I have never seen before.

I like 4 the best, it really stands out with the contrast

Not bad at all, considering your equipment doesn't do true macro. I like #1... pretty decent detail on the subject and foreground and the background is somewhat nicely blurred. I would suggest a crop on all of them to emphasize the subjects a bit more...

I would agree with cgipson1 and crop them a bit. But overall, I love these pictures. I'm jealous of your composition: I'm terrible at that! Good job!

#2 and #3 are my favs. The ant needs some more light from the camera side though. Definitely agree with the crop.

That's one of the issues with using a Panasonic DMC-LX5, it's only 10mp, if I crop in its only say a 4 mp shot, fine as a jpg on the web but the pixels really become noticeable on a hi res screen or a large print.

Will have to try one of those you tube mock up macro lenses...
