Some of my first attempts at landscape, please cc!

Needs far more darker tones. Very few B&W photos nowadays look good because they lack the tonal values of the B&W masters.
 
Interestingly, when I checked the histogram, there were no true white tones in your image. Obviously this is a problem. So aside from a levels/curves adjustment, I burned a lot of the shadows under the planks of wood siding, to make them pop a little more, burned the chimney tops for contrast, and cropped.

I like that version also White! If I am not going for a true black and white, but sepia, does it need to have white in there? I like both versions, but was just wondering.....
