#3 a little bit out of focus :(

C&C would be much appreciated.. this is my first time using my softbox w/ my SB600, so i am quite a noob when it comes to strobe lighting.

Yeah only thing thats really bothers me on the first two is the shadows on the dog. #1 is only showing one side of his face.

But number Three is better, but like you said is just out of focus.

Keep practicing you'll get it sooner or later.

Subjects seem a bit centered - might would try to compose a little differently. Obviously, the first one needs a bit more light on the camera right side and #3 would be my favorite if a little more in focus. Have you completed any PP on these?

It seems like it would be a hard photo with a black dog at night! :)

yeah I took them into Lightroom 3 and did a bit of level adjustment and slight color correction, but nothing big.
On #1 I tried the graduated filter tool, but couldn't brighten the right side without completly ruining the photo :(

You should've put light behind the dog, that must've made us able to distinguish the edges..(u know,, the shadows are black and so is the background)..actually I just learnt that a couple of days ago thank to TPF =)

love the first one.
try adding more contrast to it so the highlight would shine from the black background.

I would absolutely love the first one if there was as much light on the left side (our right) of the dog as there was on the other.

Was there any ambient light ?
