Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hi all,

Here are a few more photos for C&C.
My goal is not to post my "best shots" and get kudos for good shots, my goal is to get constructive critisicm (especially the ones I'm having trouble with) to make all my shots better. Thanks in advance for your help.

1.This is a fig leaf, that had some strange things growing on it. The next one is the same leaf as a macro (or extreme close-up) used my 18-55mm

2. Macro of same, with out-of focus areas cropped.

The next 2 are the same photo, the first with bad lens glare, and my attempt to crop it out. Let me know what you think.
3.

4.Cropped.

This next one was taken at the extreme end of my 18-55mm zoom lens, only after I took the photo, did I see the horse lying down on the left, and the 2 birds in the water to the right.

6. A photo of some friends at the park that we were at.

7. My son.

All C&C welcome, play with the images if you feel it will help.

Thanks all in advance.

I know what you mean about not posting your best shots because you want real constructive criticism and I totally agree with this idea!

My thoughts:

#1: it's a little dull - I think the colors should be brought out more with more clarity and some sharpness to add more interest.
#2: Don't care for the macro shot of it but maybe with some editing to focus more on the fuzzy things growing would make it more interesting to me
#3 and #4: Liked it better with the crop but I think it could be more visually interesting with more of a crop. There are some people that are blurry on the left hand side that are distracting to me. Cropping further to focus more on the pool area would alleviate these distractions and compose the shot a little better. I am still a newbie so these are definitely just my opinions!!!!
#5: I like this shot and with some post processing to clarify the picture, I believe it would be better. Needs some saturation and maybe a little cropping if you want the focus to be more on the horse standing up. Didn't even notice the birds until you mentioned it and I went searching for them.
#6: I like this shot! Only thing I would say is to clean up the reflection on the man's glasses a little.
#7: Priceless! Love the smile and expression. Love the bottom of his pants legs being dirty as it adds to the picture. For me, not much to critique on this one - if anything, adjust the exposure a bit to maybe create a little less grain in him. or maybe a little color saturation... I have a photo session to do in a few minutes or I would play with the image as I can't seem to express the words to what my mind has pictured...

I would like to know why you don't think these shots are your best work..........

I have no idea whether they are my best or worst works, I put up the photos I feel I need constructive critisicm on. The rest, I either like as they are, or feel I know what I have done wrong, during the shoot, and know what to do to improve them.

But if you feel they really have potential, please let me know, and why.

Karri,

Thanks for your input.

I hear everything you are saying, but unfortunately, am at a loss as to what the techniques you mentioned are:oops:. I see I still have allot to learn about processing as well as taking photos:blushing:.
