1 was almost cool, for me. I wonder if the space in between the shadows was light only, if that would have helped. Most likely out of your control as they are probly shadows of trees or something. but defined light vs dark in solids/lines prlby would have made that work for me.

2 not diggin it. just not into the whole pic being blurry, in any photo really.

3 again..almost worked, but less than 1. too much OOF/Blurred areas for me, it kinda confuses me and I find my eyes all over the picture trying to figure out where the focal point is and what to focus on...then I get dizzy. Probly a cool thing...who knows...just not workin for me. I wonder if either the stripes were in focus and the circle blurry, or the circle in focus and the stripes blurry, if that would have made it work. A little of each blurry and not. eh.

I just checked the exif on pic 3. Why the spot metering and why the iso @ 800?

Thanks for the comments. To answer your question, I always spot meter so as not blow any highlights. Not that this image was at risk for blown highlights, I just do it out of habit. I took it at ISO 800 because these vases are in a fairly dark room with little natural light. I tried using flash, but it looked horrible. I might try using my tripod next time.

yeah, i'd go tripod and slow shutter, see how that works for ya. I dunno if the metering makes a difference in this case...my gut is saying yes...but I don't have a reason..so I'm prlby wrong. lol. something is telling my gut its not ideal for this shot though.
