Nice set!
Cool set Raj!
Very nice! I also like the mynah and the sunbird.
Thank you so much for the nice words guys, your comments are always appreciated.
And the sunbird is really something, isn't it?
Prabhjeet, I've also been trying to a get a good shot at them for some time. Finally got this opportunity in front of a girls hostel. Right behind the bird was a girls hostel, and I was really hoping that the guard or the girls don't come out. A young man taking pictures of a girls hostel really could have created a wrong impression, and I had to leave fast before I could take any more shots
lol... it's only midnight, I'll go right now.. But I doubt it'll be classified as Nature & wildlifeDo share some good pics from girls hostel, preferably not Birds....lol
aha a parrot My time to shine! It is a corella. This was a captive animal? If not it is an escaped pet as they are not native to your area. Species would be Cacatua goffiniana if I had to guess, though there is a similar species that would be hard to distinguish by the photos. It is less likely to be in captivity there though
Great pics Raj That sunbird is beautiful.
Thank you so much Daniel for the insight. I bet I needed a specialist for the ID on this one. It is a Tanimbar Corella, I've updated the original post, and yes it was a captive bird. For some reason I felt he was happy to see me, he was pretty much alone & ignored in that cage. I never ever ever like it when birds are in a cage.
I once freed an entire group of Budgerigar from the cage in my friends house, he still has no idea that I'd done it.
While i completely understand the attitude please be very careful about releasing non-native species!
I really like #3 Male Purple Sunbird and #4 Jungle Myna, very nice.
Real nice set Raj, you are really improving with every set
Cool set indeed. #2 & #3 are my fav's. Yayyyy for learning all kinds of goodies in the birdie world.
Very nicely done there Raj. Glad you got the ID sorted and a beautiful one it is I must say. Well taken. Man that Sunbird just shines in that light, brilliant shot and bird. Yeah the Cockatoos I've seen when visiting Aussie and they fly around wild in huge flocks ...... even in car parks outside food stores. Crazy to see. Aussie has such a variety of birds, amazing place Raj. Nice to see that one there over your way.
All the best Raj, great shooting there.
Danny.
