Here comes 2 more river pictures. With my Canon EOS 550D mounted on a tripod, I started shooting.
Both pictures were taken with the same focal lenght, shutter speed and ISO

Camera: Canon EOS 550D
Shutter speed: 4 seconds
ISO: 100
f/18
No flash used
Lens: Canon 18-55mm

Thank you :)

In the first, the color seems washed out, and it appears dreary. They are nice, but then again, lack a subject to really pull me in and entrance me.

Regards,
Jake

Ok, thanks :)

C&C per req:

1. A nice image, as mentioned, there's a bit of a lack of 'pop'. I would suggest going back here for a reshoot, but taking along a polarizing filter; that will help increase the intensity of the rocks. I think I would also be tempted to compose the image such that there weren't as many trees visible. Perhaps shoot lower down? Oh, and don't forget to level your images in post. I'm going to disagree with D-B-J however; I see the river and the soft water as the subject.

2. This one I think is just too tight to really get much out of.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

I agree with you on that one. There were too many trees in the 1st picture. Perhaps I should have cropped them out. Personally I think the 1st is better than the 2nd.

Still learning.
