Was bored on a hot day and went to a local park. Nothing much there to photograph but thought I test out the new lens.

#3 Look at what I found, I was lucky he stayed still a little bit, maybe because he just found some nuts and was eating it the.

I like the concept of the second image, the log. I think having just a tad more depth of field so that there is part of the front that is in focus. My eye seems stuck on the out of focus front of the log, it seems to dominate the image.

So either putting a bit more DOF or cropping differently so there is less of the log would help.

i like #3 good catch the tree is probably a little underexposed but looks like it was mid day lighting was probably kind of tricky

Not really for me. I'd see the image as pretty much just the top of the trunk, with just a tiny bit of the front, enough for the viewer to see where it ends. Probably needs a reshoot (aka, new crop in camera).

But thats me. If you like the image, its all good. I've posted a few images here and on my blog that people don't get or don't like or don't think I'm following a convention, but I still like them.

Yeah I feel you, I just took the log for some snap shot to play around with the new lens. I didn't think at that moment it might be something kinda cool. I had other photos of the logs but this one look the best out of the group. This is the first thing I took and my aperture was at 1.8 or around there. Which is why dof only the front log. Thanks for the comment. Will take some new shots soon.

I almost ALWAYS do that...I sent off a recommendation to an employer for an old assistant of mine for a prospective new job. I printed it out, we both proofread it, and then I emailed it off. That's when I noticed there was an errant "her" at the beginning. Silly Drex!
