I agree, DOF in my opinion should include everything in the foreground. How is the crop on this? Maybe expanding it a bit. Otherwise I'm a sucker for rust photos - not sure why -

What is it? Being from the Midwest I would guess a cattle gate with some electric fencing attached, but there's no insulator. Very curious indeed.
