Sometimes it rains in the desert...

Last year we had some really good rain...a few days after, you get the most beautiful wild flowers...

These are called Belly Buttons....lol
And these are wild daisies...

I disagree... I think if you crop these photos, you lose the effect. Good use of DOF - the flowers really pop out! Nice shots!

A blooming desert is always and again an exciting sight, since normally you only see rocks and sand and would never guess what is "sleeping" (in the form of seeds only waiting for the occasional rain to come and awaken them to new life) under the ground.

Therefore these photos are fascinating in their own way and - so I think - do need all that "empty" space around the flowers to make obvious that these are "Flowers In The Desert", and not just a flower pic that could have been taken anywhere.

Nice to see the typical red of the Australian desert, too.
