Sometimes They Go Both Ways.

The focus system is amazing!

BTW, he made the comment that the 1D X and 5D III have the same focus system. In truth there are so close that most people would not be able to tell the difference because they both have 61 point AF systems (41 cross-type points), appear identical and have all the same focusing modes (there's a ton of them and they are tunable). But the focus system also has Canon iTR (intelligent Tracking and Recognition system) and here's where the 1D X gets a benefit...

On the 1D X, the metering system is a 100,000 pixel RGB metering system. On the 5D III it's the 63 "zone" metering system. The 1D X links the 100,000 pixel RGB metering system into the iTR system for auto-focus purposes and on the 5D III the metering system is not linked to iTR.

The next question is: If I go buy a Nikon and ten tell Canon... will they "loan" me a 1D X to get me to switch back? (I guess that's one of the benefits of being Scott Kelby.)

Haa, some people have all the luck!

I am glad a guy like Scott did the video. He seems to be well respected from what I can tell. I have been tempted to purchase his books.

It is good, but you will always get brand loyalists spitting venom at each other.

I agree with the guitar comment. Go play the guitar and buy the one that you like the best.

Wait, did I miss the brand loyalists spitting venom?!? Ahh crap. Why can't you guys send out a memo every now and again. Sigh.

Yeah, sometimes they do go both ways!

Pretty sad that he shot the D4 and had no clue as to how to review his images fast...bad case of RTFM, dude....as in "HOLD the 4-way controller and scroll thru images as fast as they can be displayed." I had to laugh at him, using the rear command dial to scroll thru already shot images on a click-by-click basis...LMFAO...wow...talk about stupid....

I am an old fart pretty much set in my ways for most things. However, when it comes to gadgets I generally will use them until I get used to or comfortable with them.

That being said, not everyone is like that. I am married to one of them. My wife bought the little Magic Trackpad for her iMac but refuses to use it. It drives me crazy because I think it works for most things better than a mouse. Oh well.

I guess Scott is one of those types also. I would hope he is aware of the advantages of Nikon over Canon if there are in those top of the line models. With the exception of the feel of the shutter button , he does not care. Or he secretly is getting some nice dinero from Canon. Who knows?
