I have been using my Sony a6400 for Time-Lapse recording a lot over the last year. To run a Time-Lapse requires external power, and the only method I have right now is the USB "micro" connection. In the last week the power connector became erratic and a couple of days ago it died. I've been trying to substitute another power source, but nothing is working, so that part of the camera is "dead". I can still use the camera for other work by charging batteries externally, but I'm going to have to figure out another way to do time-lapse.

Much Thanks! I might end up buying one. I was worried that it might actually be the camera's own socket that went bad, but I finally found a cable that worked in one of my other boxes (not Sony) and the camera itself is fine. The cable that went bad says "Motorola" on it, and off-hand, I don't remember what it came from. Anyway, for now, I think I'll just not do time-lapse for a while and think it all over. Those "micro" connectors should never have been used in products like this. Only something as small as a "Go-Pro" really needs this size.

There are similar units that can attach to a standard RC-car battery. That's what I use in the field. You can get 7.2v RC batteries at any hobby shop in a wide variety of capacities.
