Well, lookie here what happens when I'm not online for a while!! I've been off a really "FUN" photo shoot for work. About 120 3rd-graders learning all about public transit. Get to repeat the experience tomorrow. Lucky me. Haha.
I've been about to explode waiting until this news was revealed; I'm SO happy that pix and his wife chose to do this, and graciously allowed some of us to take part.
Anyway--here's the thing: I LOVE TPF! AND I've been on the receiving end of pixmedic's generosity, so when the opportunity presented itself for ME to give back a little…oh yeah, I'm all over that!
But lest anyone think I'm all THAT generous--the Sigma lens I donated is NOT that great a lens. I hadn't used it since I bought the 70-300, and it's a little soft, so I never really felt right about trying to sell it to anyone. I just figured that with the wildlife stuff Raj shoots, maybe it would be better than NOTHING in the 75mm+ range. So, when some of his pictures are a little soft, don't blame Raj, blame the lens!!
TPF has given me a great deal--equipment donations, great advice, encouragement, and about the closest thing to friendship you can get in a virtual setting. I can say with absolute confidence that I would not be the photographer I am today if I hadn't found TPF (so yeah, it's YOUR fault!! :lmao: )
Being able to give back, even just such a little bit, is at least as much of a blessing to me, and probably more so, than it is to Raj.
Lew trying catch us while where soft, people start sending there d800,markDs and other stuff to pix. I don't have any spare DSLR stuff at the moment but instead I am shipping my wifes Car 2008 Sabb 9-3 on the flat bed.
Well, now wait a minute. Anyone who has a d800 to spare, just PM me and I'll give you MY address. I'll make sure it gets to pixmedic when the time is right, cough cough (never).

Same goes for D600s, or even D7100s. Heck, I'm not picky, I'd even take a D700 donation.

Because I'm just helpful like that.
