Hello,
Next Tuesday I'm off to Nepal to go backpacking in the Himalayas for a month, which is Insane for photography but my travel insurance only insures equipment under £500. So I'm looking for specialist insurance for my Nikon D90 which cost me £700 but don't know where to look, I thought you guys on this forum would have an idea of any good companies? I'm flying right into Kathmandu which is the capital and crime rates are high so there's no other way around it.
Thanks very much :D

I have all my gear, well most of it, insured through a rider on my home owner's insurance at State Farm - so not sure what the equivalent would be in the UK. If you don't have a Home Owner's policy, then maybe you have some other type of insurance - personal property, for example - that you could add your camera gear to. You should talk to your insurance company, assuming you have one.

Cheers,

Yes, check to see if you can add a rider to your policy. If not, ask about a short term traveler's policy.
