Speedlight confusion

Hi there
I'm thinking about getting Nikon speedlight and I need to decide between SB600 and SB800.
I'm going to use it as on camera bounced flash and off camera sometines (on sync cable). Could you tell me the biggest difference between those two flashes please? I know than SB800 supports fully Nikon CLS (SB600 can't work as commander flash) and they have difference in power aswell.
I don't want to spend more than I have to.

You would probably be OK with the SB-600, it's a good flash, but I would recommend the 800 if you can. I'm always of the opinon to get a little more than you think you will need. It's better to have it and not need it then the other way around.

You're correct on the differences between the 600 and 800. I agree with Phranquey's suggestion about getting more than you need, if you can. Don't forget to look for used.

Absolutely. Everything I have was bought used.

Another thing in favor of the SB800 is the ability to add the fifth battery, which is really nice for cycle times.

SB600 doesn't support using a sync cable I don't believe. You can get around this with a hotshoe adapter, but it's good to be aware.
