Hey guys. I recently bought a canon 430II speedlight and i love it, but I would really like to use it OFF the camera. My question is how do i do that? What do i need to have it flash when i want it to flash? I have a shoe adapter so is there a cord i could easily buy from the store? if not what wireless item do i need? Thanks for any help guys!

What's the adapter look like? What plugs does it have on it?

I use these for my 430's FlashZebra.com: Female Hotshoe to Pocket Wizard, CyberSync or Elinchrom Skyport (Item #0126)

Most radio triggers take a mono cable like the one attached to the shoe in the link.

Radio triggers can be bought from $30 a set to $400 a set. It depends on your budget and needs. $30 radio triggers will be fully manual and may not be the most reliable, but they're great to experiment with and won't cost you an arm and a leg. If you're looking for something reliable and you're on a budget, check out the Paul C. Buff Cyber Syncs. They're about $130 for a trigger and a receiver, but I've heard nothing but good stuff about them.

it looks exactly like the one in your link but it did not come w a cable. was i screwed or did i not pay attention?

any reason why mine wouldnt have come w a cable? jeez, my luck

Did you order it from Flash Zebra or somewhere else?

I use the same speedlight and shoot it remotelly without cables with my Canon 60D.
