Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything here recently, but I am back!

I have a few questions regarding the 420ex speedlite flash.

1) Is this compatible to sync with my Rebel XS?
2) Is there an option to use this flash as wireless?
3) Does anyone use this flash, and how do the find it?

Thanks alot!

any help? this was making it's way to the bottom :(

Yes, it should be compatible with your camera.

You can use it as a wireless 'slave' in Canon's wireless system. Meaning that you need to have a 'Master' unit on camera to control it. A Master unit could be either a 550EX, 580EX or the ST-E2.

You could use it as a manual remote flash with a wireless radio trigger set...but this flash isn't great for that use because it doesn't have manual power control.

Just so you know, I think the current model is the 430EX II. I have the 430EX and my main problem with it (from a design perspective) is that the +/- buttons (semi-circles where on the 550 it's a dial) are difficult to press. I had read reviews and thought that it was just people complaining about nothing, but it actually does make a difference when you have to dig your nails in there to press hard to get the settings to change.
