Spitfire, spitting fire

Afternoon all,

The UK airshow season got underway in some style yesterday. I've got plenty of images to sort through, which I may share here at some point, but thought this one in particular might be of interest. The legendary Spitfire literally spits fire as it's Merlin engine bursts into life.

As an aviator the sound of the Merlin, whether in the Sptifire or a p-51 is an audible aphrodisiac . Love the photo.

I've long loved many of the WWII warbirds - the Spitfire and P-51 in particular are beauties.
