Splash!

Exploring an old horizontal water wheel, down in the pit. The wheel had stopped turning ages ago, so the water hitting the vanes was simply bouncing off in every direction. Didn't have my speedlight so I wasn't able to get the shot I wanted, but I thought these two, had a certain abstract quality to them.

Possibly, but it will have to wait until the end of the month when I get back there again. I really needed a speedlight to freeze the water drops.

If you feel, that you can get out of this place something special it would be sitting somewhere in the back of your head. Until you get, what you want. With landscape photography patience is paramount. AA has only one famous picture he shot by pure chance and good reflex. Everything else required hard work.

Now that I know where it is, and how to reach it, I'll take the equipment with me this time. I was with family, who were in a hurry.

Yup, Roaring Fork Motor Trail. Great place for photography. We're only 3-4 hrs away depending on traffic, spend a lot of time there. I tried a little post radial blur on #2, and had to delete it, way to intense!!!

I generally travel this route every trip, because of the opportunities. What was unique about the shot (and I failed to exploit fully) were the water drops around the core that seemed to float in the air. I will definitely be shooting again.
