Bump your ISO WAY up... it's easier to clean up a bit of noise than it is to try to fix blur.

BTW here's a hint, whenever you get a new camera or accessory, try it out during the middle of the day on something that is not moving.

I personally use the C-Store across from my work as my test subject (I buy, sell and trade cameras) and I have a bazillion pictures of it.... but I know my focus point, and I can take one look at the shots (Low ISO or 100 speed film if it's a filmy, F/8 or F/11, whatever SS needed for proper exposure), those settings often show what the camera can do at it's best.

It's probably not the best idea to try and judge a camera by it's low light performance before assuring yourself that the camera works in prime conditions (at least for clear, in focus shots... if not artistically).

Pretty good first attempt. You learned a lot in one thread about the exposure triangle and it helped me too. Looks like you got awesome glass and camera as well.

Yeah the kit lens was great but I kept wishing I had just a tad more reach and didn't want to change to the long one all the time. This was way more than I wanted to spend but every review said Pentax knocked it out of the park so I figured it would hold it's value really well and I would give it a shot. It's a bit like having a Ferrari with a only a learners permit!
