Spring sidewalk

This is a stretch of sidewalk near my house. I wanted to get the capture before all of the blossoms fell. C&C is welcome.

After reviewing some of the other photos I had taken that day, I think I like this one better. The lower perspective is more appealing, even though there are cars visible on the left of the photo. Please compare the two. Any input is welcome. thanks.

I think this would have benefitted from some soft morning or evening light. The harsh dappled light and blown street kill this image for me.

Thanks for the input. I'll try for the late afternoon shot this fall when the leaves change.

This should shout colour but it's not here. What image editing software do you use? have you edited this at all?

I'm using gimp but I'm very inexperienced with any editing program. What adjustments should I make to improve the color?

I hope you don't mind but I edited this photo for you using GIMP. If you need help with GIMP send me a PM and I would gladly help you. I am not an expert photo taker but I will help when I can. I actually love the photos already and the first one stands out more to me. I enhanced the colors using auto white balance, lightness & contrast & then saturation.
