Finally, some warmer weather. I took a cruise through the local park with the camera on a Kirk window mount, and spotted a few of the early arrivals.
My first sighting of a Meadowlark this year. These guys are usually very skiddish, but this one didn't mind posing for me for a few seconds....
500mm, f/4, 1/320, ISO100
The Eastern Bluebirds are getting the nest started a little earlier than usual, but now I know where they are, and where to set my blind later.
I metered on the male on top, so it blew out the side of the box and the chest of the female. Focus is a bit soft, but it's a bit slow of a shutter speed for the focal length.....keeping the ISO down. Hope to get some better ones by setting up a little closer. I was just happy to see these guys.
700mm f/5.6 (500 + TC14E), 1/160, ISO 100
