I am constantly amazed by the kit lens. It is an awesome macro lens too!
 
Wow!! Looks great for the gear you have! Just goes to show you its about the person behind the camera, and not the camera, that makes these images great.

Goodjob! I like the hdr affect too.
 
You've got some damaged pixels in there :X did you do a lot of post production?

At least it looks damaged from this small res version, can't really tell if it is the picture or not.

I know it has a few hot pixels, but I can't be bothered to edit them out on almost every single picture...

Here's an ant that was sitting just outside of the frame on the stump. I think he was "sleeping" as I was holding the camera only a few inches from him for the HDR shot. Gotta love the close-focus (ALMOST macro) of the kit lens! I popped an extension tube on it and at 18mm it was focusing on the dust on the front element!

Anyone else? Any tips on the HDR rendering itself? I used Photomatix.
 
it would be nice to see a little more of the green in the light. other then that I think its a great thought out shot.
