I've had really good luck with Microsoft's new Anti-spyware software, I'd suggest giving it a try.

Since installing it I have had 0 spyware on my machine.

It used to be Spysweeper (I think) by Giant Software and was a good app but they sharged for it. As soon as it comes out of beta ALL of my customers are getting it installed.
