There seem to be quite a lot of halos around about the railings and the shadow in the lower right is well distracting.

Like the shot and processing. If I were to have to pick something to change it would be to crop from the right up to the top vertical line of the concrete step. The grass adds nothing.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I took this shot almost 5 years ago and I would have made different composition decisions today. That being said, I like the lines of the railings. As I've said on another post, I've recently purchased an Epson 3880 and I resurrected this oldie to see what I could do with it from a print perspective. The halos Fred mentioned are interesting. I assume he is talking about the rails on the left side of the photo. I worked pretty hard to reduce these and finally gave up. Reason being that 1) they are not visible in the print and 2) they are there even with no added processing (filters, sharpening, contrast etc.). I think some of it is just the way the clouds contrast with the rail on conversion, but once I saw the print I decided I didn't care enough to spend any more time on a non problem. [shrug]

Oh, about the title. I just don't really care about titles much and would prefer to not have them at all, but what are you gonna do. As for "The Beach", this was taken at a place where my family used to have a summer cottage. We always just called it "the beach" so these were stairs to "the beach". Sorry there's no "beach" in the shot but whatever ...
