Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
well, they don't suck, but there boring to shoot! And some are just boring to look at over and over again. I can only look at macro's of flowers so much. lol I get so bored shooting landscapes, or anything that is not moving. I don't see any real challenge in it. you can set up and re-shoot the same scene as many times as you want to get it right. With action you only get a split second to shoot it, have the composition right, get it in focus, and properly exposed. then, you don't have the chance to shoot that EXACT shot again. Thats the thrill for me. not a tripod and 50 shots of the same thing. Even shooting my 13 month old son. He's always moving, going in and out of shade, turning, falling over, running up to grab my camera. Its exciting and fun when you get that one shot.

any thoughts?

I agree that photographing moving objects/people/wildlife is more exciting, but disagree that landscapes and inanimate objects are boring. When I'm shooting a landscape my goal is to create an image that represents how I see the landscape, not necessarily how it looks.

If I'm on the edge of a cliff looking into a canyon, I have to work out how to give my photo a sense of height or a sense of distance between the near and far edges of a ravene. If there's a sunset I want to convey how impressive the red tinge on the clouds is, or if I'm shooting a building, how tall it looks to me.These are the challenges I like when taking shots of stationary scenes.

I can never find landscape boring, i find it a door to tranquility since everything else is always so hectic and busy, and to be honest i don't mind sitting there for hours just letting the scenery sink in. But it also gets boring if you keep shooting the same scene over and over again, i guess this is where traveling would be nice.

I think it's quite interesting shooting a landscape over and over, especially if it's at sunset. You could take a picture every 10 minutes and see how the light and shadow changes on the landscape over an hour, for example.

Well there's that fine line i don't like to cross because maybe one day i want to return and take pictures again. I mean i have taken pictures of the same falls for years now and i always end up getting different and better pictures, but you can still go overkill

I find photos of people boring. Out of the thousands of shots I've taken, I doubt that there are more than 50 that have a person in them. I get nothing out of seeing someone walking down a street, posing on a beach, sitting at a table or any other such pose. Nature is always changing (as in sunsets as mentioned above) and the same scene taken in Winter , Summer, Fall & Spring is completely different. I'll admit that close ups of a flower aren't very interesting but a shot of a bed of flowers can be. To each his own.

What's there to say? Whatever floats your boat is what you should do.

As for shooting something "as many times as you want to get it right", this can be as much of a challenge as anything else, and perhaps in some cases unattainable. I read somewhere that a photography instructor challenged students to recreate a famous photo of a landscape or cityscape that was still there to be photographed. It is incredibly hard to do. There are so many variables that finding the right combination is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Of course action or candid photography is hard to do well, but that doesn't detract from the difficulty of doing all sorts of other genres well.
