hi there,
Became fascinated by these statues on top of a building nearby the Brussels Atomium. The water at the bottom right is from a fountain in front of the building. should i leave that out?

underexposed and the water distracts me. just my .02 $

^^^ I agree. Water ther way you've captured it there, seems out of place and way too distracting.

I think : silhouette it or expose for it. Now you're somewhere in the middle: underexposed. If you exposed for the water, perhaps that would look nice. Smart tip: take several exposures where you expose for different light intensities: here for example exposure for first the statues, the sky and the water. To do that, just fill the frame with what you're metering off in the light that you'll be shooting in. For the sky, just lift the camera until the entire frame is covered with the sky, take a metering (either adjust in manual or press the exposure hold button) and recompose.

That was sort of messy, but I hope I made some sense :)

Thanks for the tips. I'm not so experienced with metering yet but i'll try to find out how this works. ;)

"Understanding exposure" by Bryan Peterson. Everyone said it was such a great book, so I bought it. Half way through it now. And indeed, it is a great book :)
