STE2 slaving speedlights and monolight question

I have 2 strobes that I want to fire alongside 2 Canon speedlights(580exII and 430exII). The strobes I have are THESE, nothing special but seem to work great so far. I usually fire them with the ebay triggers, but I have a large backgroung I would like to light as well. So here is what my theory is, please correct me if I am wrong. I have the STE2 Canon transmitter that I can fire the 2 speedlights on slave, and I should be able to optically trigger the monolights as well. Would there be any anticipated sync issues btw the speedlights and monolights or should they play nice together?

As long as you have the two Canon units set to Manual mode, and not E-TTL, I think it should work. Because in E-TTL mode, they will fire pre-flashes, which would trigger the strobes prematurely.
