Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
As part of my College course, we have to take still life images, one of the briefs was "fruit".

So here is my fruit image!

Which of the 2 do you like most?

Also, I love the new website design, I logged on and was like, "Wait, is this the right website?"

Updated images to use flickr images (better colours)
and here is an edit - tell me if you think it is any better.

Tasty! I like #2 a lot, maybe it's because of my love for close-ups. I am not very convinced by the angle in #1, and for me it's cropped a little bit too tight.

Bits that annoy me;
shadows
messy strawberries
poor cut of the strawberry
seed on the cut surface
Neither have a lot of appeal to me; composition wise and not sure on the pink background.

^ i agree with this

Also, if only you had the care to make the whipped cream look more appealing rather then spraying it all over, this would look a lot better. Next time try cutting the strawberries in equal halves, they just look better that way

I really cannot see what you guys are talking about if I am honest, I am not gunna argue with your critique though, all critique is good critique!

I have noticed though, the colours on the image appear darker on here than they did on my desktop and photoshop (which are both set to sRGB too.)
the image is also less saturate (my monitor is also calibrated.)

It's a bit of an expectation with food photography; even a bowl of cereal will have hand picked grains etc so a bit more selective with the strawberries shouldn't be too hard.

Another thing I failed to mention earlier; the tops are important too. The bottom right in the second is the most annoying to me; it looks almost dead which doesn't add anything positive to the shot.

And, does photobucket resave pics at all? Any resizing etc it does will probably mess with you pics a bit (no experience with photobucket though so just a blind guess).

ah I see now ;)
Thanks :P

I bought them on the monday and used them on the tuesday but the delivery to the store I got them from arrives on a sunday so at the time of the shoot, the strawberrys were already atleast 3days old (not including picking time, processing time and shipping time.)

Also, I have updated the post, I am now using flickr images, the colours seem more accurate.
I have added an edit too, to see it is any better.

The brightness of the items in the first image is fine; but, as already doubted by others, i too feel a discomfort with the angle here; the other images are too tight for me. The background colour should have been more pleasing and contrasting. If the cream was not there, white background would have been apt
