My wife and I were on a motorcycle trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway a couple years ago. When we looked over the valley and saw this, we knew we were about to get a shower.

As it turns out, we got soaked on and off for about 6 straight hours, before we said "To hell with this." and turned around. We were no longer having fun, and there seemed to be no end in sight. So we went home through Kentucky and stopped at Mammoth Caves National Park instead of going to Virginia via the BRP.

nice shot but I'd prefer to see more of the trees in the foreground but the subtle colours are wonderful
