Stormy salt flats

Driving out of the edge of a storm I came across this really nice salt flat today. I lost a shoe to the muck but I got one good (for me) shot of the sunset before the rain started coming down. C&c always welcome.

Thanks for the ups. It was indeed ominous. I probably would have stuck it out for a few but the lightning was too close for comfort. I was really nervous walking out onto the flat with a 6' aluminum tripod.

Edit: hmmm, colors look a little flat on here. Must be the upload to Flickr.

Everything was very subdued. I wanted to keep the muted colors but the original on my computer seems to have a little more punch in the sky.

This spot is only 5 mins away from the house and great for sunsets so I plan on spending the summer catching as many shots from here as possible.
