strobing practice - TMNT bokeh

I was always partial to Leonardo....
 
The image looks well lit, but the circles of confusion in the background really are confusing and distracting.

I have to wonder how much the light from the desk lamp and flashlight really added to the effect here. It seems the SB 600 even on a low setting would still overpower those other lights.

Things I'd like to know are what distances the lights were from the subject, what was the shutter speed to let in the ambient and lower light levels, and what power the SB600 was set at?

I see shadows and light falling from where the SB600 was, but it's difficult to pick up any other sources on the TMNT toy except for maybe a few small bright green highlights on the left side.
