Studio Kit, is this a good deal?

Studio Photography Kit $750 - Ottawa Cameras For Sale - Kijiji Ottawa Canada.Found this near where I am living. Been researching this stuff for a while, seems like a decent buy.

Who knows?

They leave out a lot of details, like: what kind of triggers and remotes (optical? radio?), how high the light stands go (are they air-cushion stands?) or what brand they are, what kind of tripod, etc.

The tripod looks like a $30, all plastic, CPOS,

I believe the statement "well over $2500 retail' is less than accurate.

I am currently using one of those cheap Optex tripods and it serves me more than well so I don't think that will be a problem. I know there isn't much to go on but if you were to make an educated guess, how much do you think his equipment actually costs then?

What's your budget? You can probably put together something new with a warrant for cheaper. I know Adorama has 150w/s Flashpoints for $100 each. You can get two 320w/s Alien Bee B800's for under $600.

Well this would be at the very top of my budget, 750-800. Not really looking forward to spending that much though.

I did look at it on kijiji about a week ago, my first though was "What a pile of crap for 750$"

there is no way these 2 light stands worth 360$! i paid 100$ for 2 lightstand, umbrella bracket and 2 umbrella similar to that.

softbox seems like an ebay softbox, 36 inch umbrella worth close to nothing, similar camray kits in the 600 watt version is around 900$ brand new. barndoor and gels and all that crap came with the kit, he is listing separate prices for these items. i would say offer 500 at most.

These 2 flash heads are still good flash heads to start with.
